Conflict Management

Conflict can arise over the slightest thing in an organizational setting and can escalate into a major confrontation between several factions.  Find out why some conflict is good in organizations and what can be done to keep it from escalating to a disruptive level.  Additionally, learn about the types of conflict, conflict management styles and behaviors, different types of conflict resolution approaches, and the types of intervention. Students will be asked to construct a personal case study of a significant work related conflict.

Communication

This course examines the role of communication as a critical function in organizations. Students are challenged to understand how communication creates awareness of organizational mission and facilitates interpersonal and group relationships in attaining organizational goals. Communication technologies and their impact on organizational effectiveness are surveyed.

Change is an Inside Job: Two Day Sessions

This is a comprehensive change management training program that empowers individuals and organizations to reach their full potential at the workplace and in their personal lives.  This training program increases the participant’s ability to grasp and adapt to new concepts of changes and is therefore recommended as a prerequisite to any other training program.

Change Management: Shorter Session than Change is an Inside Job

This class addresses how to manage change within an organization.  The change process involves a series of steps that focuses on vision, implementation, change agents, and other components. This course provides insight into types of changes, impacting organizations and possible strategies to address those changes.

Conducting One-on-One Meetings

This course examines methods for successfully conducting one-on-one meetings.  One-on-one training sessions provide an opportunity to give users focused attention and provide tips to avoid hazards and create more comfortable, productive one-on-one sessions.

Ethics

This course examines ethical decision-making as it relates to leadership. Theoretical and practical applications of ethical principles as they relate to the organizational environment are examined.

Facilitation Skills

Facilitation is a rare and valuable skill. It is a service that is often used in conferences, debates, panels and tutorials, or simply where groups of people are meeting and need someone to help negotiate meaning and understanding, and to keep everyone engaged and on task.  This course is designed to help people to develop professional expertise in facilitation.

Human Resource Management

This course focuses upon processes central to human resource management such as forecasting employment needs, attracting and orienting personnel, the legal aspects of personnel selections, performance appraisal, motivation training and development, salary and promotion policies, discipline, and labor relations.

Leadership/Steward Transition Assistance

This offering is directed as a service to organizations when new management and/or labor leadership is in place.  How do you decrease the organizational downtime that comes with a change in leadership? Transition Workshops. Learn the process used by the military, Department of Energy, General Electric and numerous other organizations to bring the new boss up to speed quickly, letting them know where to focus their energies and how to effecitvely work with their new staffs, and how the staffs can work best with them.

Multigenerational Workforce: One Day Session

This session will identify characteristics of the four generations in the workplace. Participants will be able to recognize issues and situations that may be influenced by generational differences. They will learn to apply practical tips for working in a multigenerational workplace. We will use M.E.E.T. to communicate effectively and build a respectful workplace.

New Era Negotiations:  One Day Session

This training is designed to help participants come to realize that how the approach problems, disagreements and opportunities has an impact on the end result. The training will increase participant’s ability to approach problem resolution in a collaborative manner and improve their people skills. Participants will realize that one must rely on the process by which an agreement is reached because the process affects both the quality and durability of the result, as well as the long term relationship between the parties. Using the concepts taught in this training the participant will be able to be fully prepared for any type of negotiation and maximize satisfactory results.

Problem Solving

Successful organizations recognize that critical thinking and creative solutions to problems significantly enhance business potential. Today's leaders must use a variety of thinking styles, methodologies and creative processes. In this course, you develop your skills as a critical thinker and problem solver. You learn to leverage your personal thinking preferences using tools and techniques based on cutting-edge technologies.

Strategic Planning
 
Reviews the traditional organizational process and then examines the organization from a strategic perspective. Students will learn how to apply a variety of tools and techniques for decision-making and will develop strategic approaches to management decisions. Encourages students to think strategically about organizations in increasingly diverse environments.

Teambuilding

This course explores the theory and practice of group and team development. Participants will gain a basic understanding of team development within organizations and how and when to develop high-performance teams. Special emphasis will be on developing the knowledge, skills and abilities to facilitate groups and teams. A connection will be drawn between team building, communication and leadership.

Understanding Diversity

This course explores the meaning of cultural diversity, the need for diversity awareness and the importance of managing diversity within organizations. The course investigates sources of prejudice and discrimination and will increase the awareness and knowledge of the relationship between history and the need to understand issues related to diversity. This course will explore the concepts along with stereotyping and ethnocentrism, their origin, and how these concepts, along with prejudice and discrimination, can lead to conflict and misunderstanding. The course also examines how people might encounter diversity in terms of race/ethnicity, sex/gender, age, occupation, education, sexual orientation, and physical abilities.

The MBTI program is a highly interactive, four-day workshop that focuses on the key MBTI applications of team building, leadership and individual development.
